Sandcastles (Boodja Mia), is Western Australia’s first children’s hospice, delivered by Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation in Swanbourne, together with the Child and Adolescent Health Service. It will provide a home away from home for children living with life-limiting conditions and the families who care for them.
Within the hospice is a physical treatment area that includes a hydrotherapy pool and Poolpod. The Poolpod is an inclusive pool access system that allows children with limited mobility to enter the water safely, gently, and with dignity, making hydrotherapy far more comfortable and suitable for those with complex physical needs. The Hanrine Foundation has proudly funded the hydrotherapy Poolpod and equipment at Sandcastles.

In doing so, the Hanrine Foundation joins the many helping to bring Western Australia’s first children’s hospice to life. The Foundation acknowledges Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation for its leadership in delivering Sandcastles and welcomes others who may wish to support it.
